Soon after, Ibanez, Boss and other pedal makers started to make use of this chipset that made the JRC4558 chip famous for it's smooth and powerful Overdrive sound. With more advanced technology, Biyang can now use even better quality JRC4558 chipsets to acheive an even better sound! The OD-7 is a favorite of many players and the new OD-8 provides even more options for tone switch.

The biggest breakthrough in technology is that the OD-8 allows the user to change the chipset to create the different tone he or she desires without soldering and the expertise of professionals, just like changing a processor of a computer...**** Located on the back of the unit (behind an enclosed door...Just like the battery compartment) the OD-8 comes with 2 additional chips that you can change out yourself for more tone options. The additional chip change set:

The KWK737 chip features really good drive with nice treble overtones.
The NE5532 chip has some serious growl and presence that sounds great with either chordwork or solos.
