Pressureless sintered silicon carbide ceramic (S-SiC) provides a best solution for the most challenging high performance applications. With its unique properties, such as extra hardness, corrosive, wear resistance, it has proven successful in a wide range of applications from chemical and slurry pump seals to crucibles, armor and more.

Astek S-SiC ceramic components are fabricated from Astek silicon carbide premix, Pmix-A, utilizing most recent American technology. It possesses high density (3. 10±0. 03g/cm3) and is fine grained (1 to 3um, see picture below). The physical and mechanical properties of Astek S-SiC are comparable to those of the leading silicon carbide ceramic in the world. Currently, Astek offers the following S-SiC products:

With years of experience in engineered ceramic, Astek has developed entire manufacturing technology of sintered silicon carbide products from spray dried powder to finished parts.

Besides its many unique properties, Astek S-SiC can be fabricated into complicated shapes with tight dimensional control and good yield. The as-fired surface finish of Astek S-SiC parts is also excellent (about 12um), which requires minimum or no machining.
