AS
Description
AS is a high range water reducer, commonly referred to as a superplasticizer. Amino-sulfonic acid single aromatic ring type (AS)high range water reducer was synthesized form aminobenzene sulfonic acid, phenol and formaldehyde. It is an aqueous solution of a modified amino sulfonate and organic compounds. AS contains no added chloride. AS meets the requirements of chemical admixture specifications for concrete: GB8076-1997, GB50119-2003.

Uses
AS has the advantages of no air-introducing, low addition rate, low slump loss, and decreasing viscosity. At normal condition, it can be prepared for C60-C80 flowable concrete without using strength enhancing agent.
Applicable in any silicate concrete. It has almost the same effect on the setting time for different cement. It will not cause abnormal setting.
Applicable in concrete precasting and steam-curing for both industrial and civil construction project.
Applicable for commercial concrete. Concrete with AS superplasticizer has low slump loss.
Used to make flowable and self-compacting concrete.
It is particularly suitable to be base material for compound admixtures.
Advantages
Low addition rate: For solid product, the addition rate is 0.30-1.20%; For liquid product, the addition rate is 0.70 - 2.75%. Over addition will cause cement particles dispersed, which will reduce water reservation and increase bleeding and segregation.

High water-reducing rate: AS superplasticizer can reduce water over 30%. It can be used for C60-C80 high performance or super performance concrete. It is effective in flowing concrete or self-leveling/self-compacting concrete.
Low slump loss: It can satisfy the requirement of long time and distance transportation. It is ideal for commercial and pumping concrete.
Fast early strengthening: 3 days can reach 70% of designed strength.
Effective durability. It has the property of high volume stability, anti-seepage and freezing.
Wide applicability. It can be used with different variety of cement.

Low alkali content: It can prevent alkali-aggregate reaction. When it is used in winter, there is no crystals.
AS produces concrete with extremely workable characteristics referred to as high slump. ASalso allows concrete to be produced with very low water/cement ratios at low or normal slumps.
AS is ideal for use in prestress, precast, bridge deck or any concrete where it is desired to keep the water/cement ratio to a minimum and still achieve the degree of workability necessary to provide easy placement and consolidation. AS will also fluidize concrete, making it ideal for tremie concreting or other applications where high slumps are desired.
Compatible with Portland cement, normal Portland cement, Portland slag cement, fly-ash cement and Portland pozzolanic cement etc.

Addition Rates
The general addition rate is from 0.35 to 1.2%. It should be added into the mixer together with water. Give sufficient time for dispersing purpose.
