Characteristics of our solution sodium hydrosulfite:
Higher solution strength (Na2S2O4: Around 165g/L) than other solution type sodium hydrosulfite.
Can be transported and stored under normal temperature(5-25)without needing refrigeration.
Applica: It is widely used in the textile industry for vat dyeing, reduction cleaning, printing and stripping, textile materials bleaching. It is also used in bleaching paper pulps, especially mechanical pulp; Bleaching kaolin clay and foodstuffs. As a reducing agent, it is used in organic synthesizing.
Specific hazards: Our sodium hydrosulfite is highly stable when stored in dry closed containers. However, all sodium hydrosulfite by nature is a very reactive chemical which can decompose when exposed to air and moisture or contacts with small quantities of water. Decomposition will result in spontaneously ignition and liberating toxicgas--SO2. React violently with oxidants which will lead to combustion or explosion.
Extinguishing Media: A large amount of water.
Extinguish Method: Usingsufficient amount of water drown the product completely. Other extinguishing media may not stop decompositionthoroughly.
Storage & handling: The product must be always handled and stored in sealed clean iron drums or bulk containers. Avoid contacts with moisture, acids, oxidizing chemicals and combustible organic substances. Protect the product away from direct sunlight, heat, sparks and open flames. Carefully handle the product and avoid damaging the package.
Spillage: Sweep up immediately all spillage of sodium hydrosulfite around the application and storage areas. Deposit it in a dry and clean container where it can be dissolved in water. Wash the area invovlved with water. If the product is suspected to already absorbed moisture. Use it as soon as possible (if it is impossible to use it immediately, you need to dispose it. )
