Properties: White or offwhite powder; Relative density is 2.846, Melts at approx. 1084; Sparingly soluble in water, soluble in alkali thiocyanate solutions, Ammonia and Ether, but not in Ethanol, dilute Hydrochloric acid and Acetone; This item is flammable at above 140; When dry Cuprous thiocyanate meets aqueous Ammonia under cold circumstances, it forms a deep blue copper-ammonia complex (CuSCN 5NH3) which discharges Ammonia while heating.
