1. Most solid wood used in china today is called oak but is in fact rubber wood, the quality can vary depending on its origin. Softer grades although may look okay in the early stages are prone to split.
J. I. S only uses premium grade solid wood.
2. Finger jointing is a common practice in china with wooden bathroom furniture. We only use finger jointed wood on the backs & bases of our units, all other areas are made of single pieces of solid wood. Finger jointing creates a weak point in the V cut of the joint, which has a high likelihood of splitting, these splits can occur at anytime.
3. J. I. S uses premium Auto Paint instead of the standard Polyurethane Paints commonly used in the industry.
Polyurethane paints although initially providing a similar finish discolor over time, with white paints turning yellow. Auto paint also provides a much stronger finish which is less prone to scratching.
4. J. I. S uses only premium grade hardware. We have undertaken extensive testing with locally produced Hardware, with results, for example, revealing that there is no company in china that can produce a suitable soft closing drawer runner.
J. I. S uses Austria produced Blum soft closing drawer runners.
Stainless Steel: The industry standard is 202 grades, 202 stainless steel will still rust over time, and J. I. S uses the 304 grade which is double price of 202.
