For users, IPTV has three functional systems:
*Program Live system (contain time-shift function);
*Program VOD system;
*User trait system.  

Clearcrane interactive TV system has "Live TV broadcast time-shift function". In short, when users are watching the TV program, they can pause the program by the remote, and continue to watch from the pause moment after some time. Also, users can search and watch some program which has been broadcast already, by the fallback function on the remote.

The composition of the whole system
Hardware: Including live/time-shift streaming media servers, file servers, video on demand servers and multimedia devices (IP set-top boxes). Streaming media server responsible for the TV video signals in the collection, coding, compression, real-time to release; File server is responsible for file transfer, database and agreement; Video-on-demand server is used to store and manage VOD program source. Multimedia terminal responsible for the real-time reception, decoding and playback output to the TV display terminal. As the browser is embedded in multimedia terminal, so you can use the terminal to surf the internet, send and receive e-mail and other Internet-based applications directly.

Software: Live streaming media management system, interactive multimedia information system. They are web-based management software, system admin can control the whole IPTV system through the web platform.
