Product Description

Mac offers a range of Ebike kits built using our Mac Geared Hub motor. For more detailed information on our Geared Hub Motors, please refer to our Hub-Motor listings. As we manufacture the motors we are able to modify the motor winding and stator to optimize the motor speed and power to meet the requirements such as Wheel Size (typically 16" to 700C), Max Speed (up to 50kph continuous or more for prolonged bursts), Max Power (up to 1000W continuous Output power, equivalent to approximately 1250W input power at rated speed), Max Torque and Battery Pack Voltage. The controller used and the controller programming can be modified to tailor the E-Bike Kits performance to your exact requirements and feel.

Our E-Bike Kit wheels are generally built from High End parts including Stainless Steel Spokes (typically black, 13G) and High Quality Eyeletted, Anodised, Double Wall Rims. Wheels are assembled using imported Wheel Building Tools including Spoke Tension measuring equipment. So every wheel is carefully dished and tensioned ensuring a long and trouble free service life. The high quality Stainless Steel spokes we use means that you do not have to resort to inferior, heavy and oversized 11 or 12G Zinc coated spokes. The quality parts also have a high quality appearance to match the performance and light weight and are more in keeping with the high quality components on a quality Bicycle. Cost savings can be made by using cheaper rims and Zinc coated steel spokes if so required.

Our standard kits use high quality Infineon Type controllers fitted with the very best Imported components for critical parts such as International Rectifier Mosfets and Low ESR, high Temperature Imported Capacitors. The Infineon controllers are programmable and have many features that can be implemented such as 3-level programmable speed switch, programmable battery/phase currents, cruise control and re-generative braking. These controllers are well known in the market to discerning customers so have added perceived value. They can also be fitted with the connector for the popular Cycle Analyst and with sufficient order quantity we can also supply a custom wiring loom to give a tidier and more professional installation or fit connectors to your requirements.

Another big plus for these high end Controllers is the massive power handling and reliability they offer in a much smaller package than low end controllers generally available on the market. Our small 6 Fet controller, fitted with genuine imported IRFB4110 Mosfets (not the cheaper, and inferior, fake IR mosfets that are very common in China and can be easily spotted if you know what to look for) has a very safe and conservative battery current rating of 25A and can be used with Battery packs from 36 to 72V with maximum battery voltage of 90V. A low end controller will need at least 12 or more low quality mosfets to supply equivalent power levels but with much less safety margin or reliability, will likely be more than double the size, with limited functionality, cannot be easily re-programmed and are generally limited to a max input voltage of 48V. Our 12 Mosfet IRFB4110 equipped controller has a very conservative continuous battery current rating of 35A, max current of 45A, but many users re-program them for much higher current levels without issues. The heart of a good controller is the components used and these are internationally priced.

We are also able to offer lower Budget E-Bike Kits which offer good performance at a competitive price using proven parts and components. For low power 250W or 350W kits our High Power Controllers may not be necessary and cheaper rims and spokes are adequate. In the future we will also be offering lower budget Battery Packs with more modest performance and lower cost.
