The non-water Na2S. XH2O is white crystal, and it is easy to be deliquescence. The relative density is 1.856 (14 centigrade), and its melting point is 1, 180 centigrade. It dissolves in water at 10 centigrade at which the solubility is 15.4g / 100ml water. When at 90 centigrade, the solubility is 57.2g/100ml water. It will react with acid, and become sulfureted hydrogen. It dissolves in water slightly, but not dissolves in aether. The watery liquid shows strong alkalescence, so it is also called sulfuration alkali. When it dissolves in sulfur, it produces the Na2S. XH2O. Because of impurity, its industrial product is pink, brown pink, and khaki. It has corrosive and toxicity. When under the air, it is easy to be oxygenated and become hyposulphite.

Usage:
In dye industry, it used to produce sulfuration dye; It is also the raw material of sulfuration green and sulfuration blue. In printing and dyeing industry, it serves as the dying helper in melting sulfuration dye. In leather industry, it used to hydrolyze in order to denude of peltry; It also can make the Na2S. XH2O and accelerate the dry peltry' intenerating. In paper making industry, it serves as boiling helper in making paper. In weave industry, it used to doff saltpeter of man-made fibrin and to revert nitration goods. In medicine industry, it used to produce febrifuge. Besides that, it also can used to produce hyposulphite and excessive Na2S. XH2O.

Storage and Transportation:
It belongs to inorganic alkalescence causticity, and it should store in ventilated and dry place or under the asbestine shed and far from wet. The deliquescence is very strong and oxidation easy, so the container must be pressurized; It can not store and transport with acid and causticity product. When loading and unloading, it wants care, prevented from damaging the pack.

Packing:
The nubbly Na2S. XH2O should be packed in metal pail which thickness is above 0.5mm, and the metal pail should be airproofed, 160kg/pail. The sheet and grainy Na2S. XH2O is packed with polyethylene plastic bag of which has two inner liner, 25kg/bag. On the packing, it should have the sign of "poisonous, and causticity".
