Buck-Boost Transformer offer an economical solution to the adjustment of line voltage that are slightly above or below normal. When a Buck-boost Transformer is connected as an autotransformer, only a portion of load KVA is actually transformed. The majority of the load KVA is passed directly through to the source. The major advantages of Buck-Boost Transformer are its low loss, compact structure and light weight. They are also more efficient and cost less than equivalent transformers. A Buck-Boost Transformer is the ideal solution for changing line voltage by small amounts.
