1. General descriptions
1.1 This hand generator is a specially designed DC power source for radio set. It can supply power continuously, operate on float charge, and charge the storage battery.

1.2.3 Ripple voltage
When it is used to supply power to the radio set at rated load and light-duty, the output ripple voltage is less than 10mV.
1.2.4 Voltage regulation
When the generation operates from rated value to light-duty value, the output voltage variation is not more than 10% of its rated voltage.
1.3 When the generator operates in supply condition, assuring time is 1200h.
1.4 Composing
The complete assembly consists of: One generator, one stand, one power supply cable with plugs, one canvas bag and two carrying belts.
1.5 Specifications
1.5.1 This hand generator can be normally used at temperature -20C~+70C, relative humidity 90%~95 %( 45 C).
1.5.2 This hand generator can stand vibration of 1.5g (55~200) Hz acceleration. It could not be damaged under shock condition of (1~1.5) Hz acceleration.
1.5.3 This hand generator is waterproof.
1.5.4 This generator is designed with over-voltage and over-current protects function.

2 Principle of operation
When this generator is used to supply power to the radio set, two handles must be cranked. By means of gearing up, it produces the driving force to make the permanent magnet synchronous generator to generate power.
The alternating voltage after being rectified by silicon diodes, filtering by condensers and then regulated by transistor series regulator is converted into constant DC output voltage. The DC output voltage supplies directly to the radio set.
The output voltage for charging is unregulated.
2.1 Gear transmission
The generator adopts two-stage gears transmission. Through cranking the generator to drive the gears and make the rotor rotate. The total transmission ratio is I=i1Xi2=7.64X6.71=50. When cranking speed is 60r/min the rotating speeding of the rotor is about 3000r/min.
2.2 Generator
The structure of the generator is face-mounting and pitched winding in star connection. The windings are enclosed with epoxy resin and combined with the stator core as entirety.
The rotor is made of rare-earth permanent magnet in star shape and 8-pole. Air-erased magnet is used for stabilization.
While cranking the generator, there is a relative motion of the magnetic field with respect to the stator and AC voltage is induced in the stator windings with a frequency of 200Hz approximately.
2.3 Circuit
A reliable transistor series DC regulator is employed in this generator.
There is a current meter is indicating the operating current and there are LED indicators indicating operating states: Green light means a safety operation. Red light is a warning for over-speed.
2.4 Protection measure
2.4.1 The generator is provided with a RUE auto-reset fuse for charge protection. When operating current exceeds its protection value, the temperature of RUE fuse rises and the fuse resistance increases. Therefore, it blocks the abnormal current disappears, the fuse return to its protect the storage battery against the damage by abnormal current.
2.4.2 The generator is designed with an over-voltage protection circuit to restrict the input voltage of the regulator and charging output voltage to a regulated range (15+-1) V to prevent the electric apparatus from being damaged by over-voltage caused by high speed of cranking.
2.4.3 The generator provides its power output through the 3-pin shielded cable.
