[DRUG NAME]Generic name: Clavulanate potassium/amoxicillin(1: 4)capsules

[INDICATIONS] Clavulanate potassium/amoxicillin is indicated for the treatment of the following infections caused by sensitive bacteria:
1.  1upper respiratory tract infections including sinusitis, antiaditis, pharyngitis, otitis media;
2.  lower respiratory tract infections like acute bronchitis, acute episode of chronic bronchitis, pneumonia, lung abscess and bronchiectasia with concurrent infection;
3.  urinary system infections including urocystitis, urethritis, pyelonephritis, prostatitis, pelvic inflammation, urinary tract infection caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae and soft chancre;
4.  skin and soft tissue infections including bouton, abscess, cellulites, wound infections;
5.  other infections like medullitis, ichoremia, eritonitis and postoperational infections.

[INGREDIENTS]The main composition is amoxicillin and clavulanate potassium.

[DESCRIPTION]yellowish powder capsules.

[PHARMACOKINETICS]According to the foreign pharmacokinetical studies on normal adults, peak concentrations were attained one hour after oral administration of a singledose of 0.375 g clavulanate potassium/amoxicillin before meals, serum concentraition were 4.27± 0.82 μ G/m and 2.08± 0.58¦Ìg/ml, respectively. About 72.88% clavulanate potassium and 40.14% amoxicillin were recovered in the urine 6 hours later. Food doesn't affect the absorption of the drug. The same study has indicated that after oral administration with standard breakfast, peak serum concentration, excretory rate, time from administration to peak concentration were similar to those before meals. Similar results were obtained in relevant studies in China.

[DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION]For adult and children over 12 years: 2 capsules to be taken 3 times daily. For patients with severe infections: The dose should be doubled or modified under the direction of the physician. The continuous course of therapy is no more than 14 days if the patient is not examined repeatedly.
