Product Description

Octafluorocyclobutane is used as a refrigerant and a heat-transfer medium. It is non-flammable, non-toxic, but generally non-nutritive. It isn't a cfc, but it's close. It is shipped as a liquefied gas under its own vapor pressure. Octafluorocyclobutane is mainly used in the semiconductor industry for etching of silicon oxides. It can be used also to clean the cvd/pecvd chambers. The food additive octafluorocyclo-butane may be safely used as a propellant and aerating agent in foamed or sprayed food products.
