The empirical formula is C8H12N4O5 and the molecular weight is 244.21. Ribavirin is a drug available for many kind of viruses. It can inhibit WRNA and various DNA viruses, such as those of influenza, parainfluenza, skin herpes, keratitis, Conjunctivitis, pneumonia, bronchitis etc. It is a new antivirotic and characterized by high curative effect, low toxicity, little side effect, etc.
