The dragon-eye, also named as Bulgy-eye, has always been regarded as traditional goldfish which is called" Chinese Goldfish" in Japan.There were goldfish with bulgy eyeballs in "Fish and Algae" drawn by Emperor Xuanzong of Ming Dynasty(1426-1435), including its long history.It was introduced from Guangdong of China through Yokohama to Japan in 1895.It is short with well-developed eyeballs protruding out of eye sockets like eyes of the dragon in ancient legends.The eyeball could be in many sharps, such as ball-sharped, pear-sharped, cylindraceous, grape-shaped, etc.They start to protrude gradually one month after hatched, and form a fixed sharp tow or three months later, which may very for different varieties.Normally, it has rich colours.
