Product Description
Potassium Permanganate (KMnO4)
Properties Dark purple granular, needle shaped or sand-like crystals with a metallic sheen. Soluble in water, decomposed by alcohol and peroxide. Powerful oxidizer. Will cause burning or explosions when in contact by rubbing or colliding with organic materials.
Uses
As an oxidizer of saccharin, Vitamin C, Tubomel (Isoniazid) etc.; Decolourant of starch, textile, fats. Gas absorbent and decontaminates water. In medicine, it is used as disinfectant and antiseptic. Also suited for farming, aquaculture, metallurgical industry and has environmental uses.
