Treponema pallidum is the causative agent of syphilis, a sexually transmitted disease (STD). A blood test for syphilis antibodies is an important way to determine whether someone has syphilis. We have screened out the immuno-dominant epitope genes of TP coming from TP15, TP17, TP47 and expressed each epitope gene as well as multiple-epitope genes to get recombinant antigens with good activity and high specificity. The recombinant antigens can be easily conjugated with HRP. They can be used in double antigen sandwich ELISA kits and rapid test kits.
