Product Description
Nicosulfuron is a branched chain amino acid synthesis (ALS or AHAS) inhibitor. Acts by inhibiting biosynthesis of the essential amino acide valine and isoleucine, hence stopping cell division and plant growth. Crop selectivity derives from selective metabolism(P450-mediated pyrimidine-5-hydroxylation. Followed by conjugation with glucose). Nicosulfuron is a selective systemic herbicide, absorbed by the foliage and roots, with rapid translocation to the meristematic tissues in 4-5 days, and the weeds are killed in 20-25 days.
It is a selective post-emergency control in mazine (corn) of annual grass weeds such as Barnyardgrass, Wild oats, Common Crabgrass, Green Bristlegrass, Goosegrass Wiregrass etc., broad-leaved weeds including Common purslane, Redroot amaranth, Knotweed, Amaranth, Siberian cocklebur etc., and annual sedge weeds.
