Dry Polymer Feed Systems
Dry Polymer Feed Systems

Product Description

Dry polymer feed systems include a variety of options, from simple low-cost systems to complex fully automatic designs. Determining which is the best one for your application takes some thought, and should be made knowing your possible options. This document lists the most common options and offers suggestions for their use.
The design of these systems is not fixed. This means, we can modify any system to meet a customer's specific requirements or preferences, to ensure the customer receives exactly the system they want.
Intermediate-cost systems
These systems are full-featured systems which offer significant advantages over the low cost systems. In order to keep the cost reasonable, some of the complex controls used in the high-cost systems are eliminated. The system is partially automatic, but is primarily initiated and controlled by an operator. However, all of the features used to ensure proper feed and mixing are included in these systems: Screw conveyor to control polymer feed, heaters and dessicant to control moisture absorption, educator mixer to wet and convey the polymer to the mixing tank, and others.

Post-dilution systems
It's often desirable to perform dilution in two stages. In the first stage, the polymer is mixed with water and activated, and in the second stage the activated polymer is diluted to its final concentration. The benefit of this approach is that smaller storage tanks are required. Assuming your final concentration is. 25%, and the initial concentration is 2%, the size of the tank is reduced by 1/8. (Or, alternately, the same size tank can
With a more sophisticated system, precision flow meters would be installed on this skid for measuring the flow of both polymer and water, and the final blend ratio would be adjusted continually by controlling the polymer feed rate. (This would be done on the Polymer Feed System)
It follows that a complex control system would require feedback from the post-dilution system in order to provide a certain polymer ratio regardless of the demand rate (the amount of water to be treated).

High-end systems
High-end systems we define to include technically sophisticated controls and feedback. They are designed for completely automatic operation, and to interface with the plant's control system for truly unattended and automatic control.
They may include high-accuracy flow meters for the best ratio control possible, and other options limited only by the customer's budget and wishes. The number of options is too many to discuss here, so we suggest that you contact us for further information and to discuss your application in detail. We specialize in custom systems designed specifically for a customer's application, and will be pleased to work with you to find the best system for your budget.
