It is a parallel tube with a super aperture, used for testing the field of view of a telescope system and for calibration of the size and the deviation from the centre of the field of view of an optical instrument, such as the diffraction HUD systems which have been equipped in the air planes of Boeing 727, JAS39, F-35, F-22, etc.
