Property: White crystal or crystalline powder; Soluble in water, diluted acid and dilute base, slightly soluble in ethanol, does not dissolve in ether.

Main Functions and Use:
D-Methionine is one kind of important sulfur bearing organic chiral source, mainly applies in the chiral medicine, chiral chemical additive, chiral auxiliary and so on domains; In the pharmacy, it is used as the chiral source for the chiral synthesis. As one optically active organic acid, it has the Nonre placeable function in certain chiral compound's asymmetric synthesis process. At present, it is mainly used as the methionine protecting agent in the new broad spectrum antibiotic, D-methane amino thiol and polypeptide synthetic process.
