Dioctyl sebacate (DOS)
Properties and use:
Colorless or yellow transparent oily liquid, with special odor.
Relative density 0.911-0.913 (25? ), soluble in organic solvents including hydrocarbons, alcohols, esters, chloro hydrocarbon, aether, benzene, etc.
With hish plasticity, low volatility, good cold/heat/light resistance and electric insulativity.
Mainly used in PVC, VC copolymer, cellulose nitrate, ethyl cellulose, synthetic rubber, etc. Especially applicable to produce cold resistant wires and cable materials, artificial leather, film, sheets, blanks, etc. Can be used as low-temperature plasticizer for various synthetic rubber, harmless to rubber vulcanization.
