Introduction
The OP-NLR8600 series Broadband Network Optical Receiver (Node) is designed to meet the industry need for s high quality, less costly, general-purpose node to support the evolving technologies and services required in HFC networks. Designed with flexibility to meet the needs for a variety of system architectures, the node offers configurations which are ideal for analog and digital transmission, telephony and data services. Utilizing modular design, out FN-870-2 can be configured to provide these advanced services in a effective way. It is especially applicable to fiber rich networking. Configured in a sturdy, weatherproof die casting aluminum alloy housing, the node operates over a wide temperature range and accepts cable powering form 40-90Vac. Theunit isoptional provisioned also for power supplies of 220Vac. Optional return transmittercapability inthe receivers allows the useof return optical path redundancy. The forward system receiver modules are compatible with either 1310nm or 1550nm signals. Careful design of the receiver circuit allows for a variety of channel loading of 77 or more NTSC analog channels 59 or more PAL analog channels, or a combination of analog and digital signals. Each receiver utilizes a PIN optical receiver and a low noise preamplifier to assure optimum carrier-to-noise performance. Careful attention to design and implementation of the RF circuitry provides high output levels with excellent specifications. The receiver offers a wide variety of pass band options. Diplex filters are available at 35/47, 42/54, and 65/87 MHZ, allowing operation in virtually any cable system worldwide. All of the bi-directional ports are capable of passing power into or out of the unit. Gain is continuously adjustable and slope isadjustable through plug-in components per 3dB.
