Product Description
Product Name: Compostable Starch Resin
Product Code: BOR-Z-501F(Compostable Injection
Moulding grade)
Composition: Starch ≥ 50%; Fat ≥ 15%; Others ≥ 15%; Other additives ≥ 20%
Does not contain any PE, PP, PVA or EVA
Characteristics: Granule colour is light yellow, has slight starch fragrance, easily absorbs moisture and is easily decomposed by microbes within 180 days; Low static; Easily coloured; Granules normally come in cylinder or round shape; Processing temperature is generally lower than conventional; These granules can be processed on their own directly to the final product without adding any other polyolefin materials.
Recommended applications:
This resin does not contain any PE, PP, PS or PVC. In accordance with ISO standards 14851, 14852, 14855 and 16929 it degrades 100% within 12 weeks. It has relatively high barrier property and is therefore suitable for packing of stir-fried food, dry fruits, nuts, milk and beverage packaging after being laminated to paper, aluminium foil or tin foil. It can also be processed by injection moulding, vacuum forming and sheet extrusion, e. G. For disposable cutlery, plates, chopsticks, etc.
Processing equipment required:
Any ordinary film blowing extruders, vacuum forming equipment and sheet extruders.
Processing Technology:
Newly made products feel crispy and brittle to the hand due to the moisture lost during production. After 24 hours of curing time, it regains mouldable property and hardness. It is then ready for the next processing stage, e. G. For disposable cutlery, etc.
Note:
1 Due to the high starch content, the resin easily absorbs moisture, therefore it needs to be stored in a dry environment and the packaging should be sealed properly to prevent ingress of moisture.
2 In case the resin is damp, it should be dried for 2 hours at 80C.
3 During processing, e. G. Moulding, vacuum forming or sheet extrusion, the temperature is correct if corn fragrance can be smelled at the hoppers.
4 It easily decomposes in a microbial environment within 180 days and is therefore soil-friendly.
