Edge Filter

An blocking filter is an optical element that in a defined spectral region blocks the Light completely while transmitting it in a closely adjacent region with high Transparency. If the transmission region lies in the longer-wave region compared With the rejection region, the filters are called long-wave pass or cut-on filters.
In the inverse case, the filters are shortwave pass or cut-off filters.
