The soft enamel process is based on the same style as a die struck pin. A die is cut to the image of your design (repeat orders save on this step! ! ). Your image is stamped on the sheet of iron or copper, and are cut out to the outline of the desing shape. Plating is done next: For this type of pin the most common are gold, nickel (silver), copper, and black nickel (dark silver/black chrome) are available. These raised metal surfaces are polished to a luster finish while recessed areas are filled with a paint enamel. These Pantone based paints allow the selected colors of your pins to show up in the recesses of the pin, leaving the raised polished metal areas slightly above the color giving a 3D effect. The Soft Enamel is one of our most popular choices for custom pins, it offers a great looking product for a price slightly less than the cloisonne' process.
