It is white powder crystal of 136.29 molecular weight, 2.91g/cm3 density, 283DC melting point and 732DC boiling. It is deliquescent, and it dissolves in water. It dissolved in organic solution of oxygen-containing, such as methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, glycerin, acetone, ether and so on. It can solve metal oxide and cellulose. Zinc Chloride has good property of conducting electricity. It has corrosion and toxicity.

Use:
It is mainly used in the industries of organic synthesis, such as dehydrating agent, condensating agent, wood antiseptic, fabric starching agent, weighting agent, battery, electroplating, papermaking, medicine, active carbon and so on.
