DGU Glass (DGU-LOWE)

Product Description

The DGU(Double Glazing Unit) is made of two or multi- pieces base glasses which spaced by an aluminium frame filled with dryer material and coated with butyl, at the same time, dry air or inert gas is filled into the space between pieces and then sealed around with polysulfide sealant or structural sealant.

The characteristics of DGU glass
1. Energy saving: Due to the air gap isolation, the U value is largely reduced, so that the cost for cooling in summer and heating in winter is decreased a lot.
2. Noises isolating: The isolation of the air gap can reduce the noises by around 30 MB
3. Dewing resistant: The dewing on inner surface of window glass is caused by the temperature difference between outer and inner room, this is often happening on normal window glass, but the insulating glass can resist it due to its good heat isolation feature.
Frequent limitations on DGU glass
1. Hydrometeor in the air gap
If Hydrometeor happens in the air gap, it will obstruct the transparency of glass and the glass is useless then. There are two main causes for Hydrometeor, the first one is the dryer is disabled because of exposing in the air too long time or it is not sufficient; And the other is the sealing is under standard or the sealant used is not qualified, so the outside vapour gets into the air gap of the insulated glass.
2. Distortion or self-cracking
After the glass being installed, the surface of the glass happens to be concave or protruding if seeing from far, sometime the two pieces getting together or breaking up. This is mainly because of a unreasonable gas filling or the dryer quantity filled is not correct, the temperature difference and air pressure difference in different altitude areas can be also a cause.

In order to minimized the above mentioned liminations, Nanjing Yaohua takes several measures as following:

1. Building a room specially for insulating purpose and using a dehumidifier to maintain a suitable humidity in it.
2. The desiccant is filled by a auto filler hermetically, it is used immediately after filled, so that it can minimize the time of desiccant exposing in the air.
3. Using continuous bending aluminium spacer and sealing the joint with butyl, the automatic sealant machine makes the sealant even and avoids the air line between the primary and secondary sealants. For the sealants, we always use the first class ones to ensure the airproof and usage life of our products.
