The physical and chemical properties:
Carboxymethyl-cellulose Sodium (CMC-Na) is a cellulose derivative obtained by chemically modificating the natural cellulose. It is one of the most important water soluble polymers with many advantages that other natural or synthetic glues do not have. CMC is white or thin yellow and flowing fine powder. It is tasteless, smelless, mould-proof, non-toxic, non-flammable and easily dissolved in water to become transparent viscose solution.
CMC solution has good properties of thickening, adhering, emulsifying, and stabilizing. Membrane forming, moisture-holding, shape-holding, dispersing and anti-enzyme. The solution of CMC can be mixed with dissolvable animal glues, glycerin, sobbitol, Arabic gum, pectin, xanthic gum and dissolvable starch.
Range of Application:
The edible grad CMC has-muti-funtions of thickening, emulsifying, shaping, expanding and stabilizing, which can be used instead of gelatin, agar and sodium alginate. It can not only lower the production cost but also improve the food quality, edibility, health protecting, and freshness-preservation and prolong the preserving period. It is one of necessary food additives in food industry. Now it is extensively used in ice cream product, canned food, food additives in food industry, biscuit, instant noodles, current-used foods, quick-freeze specialty food and various kinds of solid, liquid beverage, lactic acid beverage, milk product and wine.
Packaging and Storage:
The exterior packing of CMC uses a complex a paper and plastic and the interior uses a plastic bag, 2.5kg/bag.
The product should be kept in a dry and clean place and separated from other chemicals and raw materials.
