Tungsten carbide is naturally grayish in color, and because of its extreme hardness is a perfect base metal for physical vapor deposition (PVD) coatings----IP(ions Plating). Under carefully controlled manufacturing conditions, and using this special process, the exterior surface color of naturally gray tungsten carbide wedding bands can be permanently changed to a rich and luxurious black----Diamond (C10)coating. The interior is also coated except for a very thin line used for metal identification. The IP coating on our Black Tungsten wedding bands not only produces a handsome wedding band that is similar to the color of onyx, but it improves the material properties of these wedding bands by extending their service life through high wear resistance and low surface friction. We have tested these Black Tungsten wedding bands for over two year now, and found that they are resistant to typical wear and scratching.
