Characteristics
Nitroglycerin aerosol is a kind of light yellow-green transparent liquid and kept in a pressurised canister with a metered valve system.

Pharmacological Action
This medicine is a vasodilator which can directly relax vascular smooth muscles, especially those of small vessels, dilating blood vessels of the body, diminishing the peripheral resistance, increasing the capacity of blood vessels, towering blood pressure, decreasing the returned blood volume and cardiac output so that the heart load is lightened, the oxygen consumption of myocardium is cut down, and angina pectoris is remitted consequently.

Owing to the dilatation of venae (mainly)and arteriae, the precardiac load (mainly)and postcardiac load are reduced and as a result, congestive heart-failure can be treated, too.

Simple in use and quick in effect (begins to act in about 30 seconds), this medicine is apt to be absorbed thoroughly by the mucous membrane of mouth. It joins metabolism in the liver and is discharged from the kidney afterwards.

Indications
For prevention and treatment of various angina pectoris and congestive heart -failure as well, especially suitable for the emergency treatment of angina pectoris.
