Emperor Specialty Foods was founded in 1986 as Canada's only fully integrated Shiitake mushroom producer under the name Emperor Mushroom Industries Inc. Early in our development, we recognized that our customers needed a single source of specialty mushrooms. We established strong relationships with local growers whose prime focus was the same as Emperors, to grow product of exceptionally high quality and offer it to our customers at competitive prices. We expanded our cultivated specialty product line to include ENOKI, OYSTER, and PORTABELLA and have recently been able to add to our assortment exotic varieties such as KING OYSTER and LIONS MANE (MONKEY HEAD).

Emperor has worked closely with qualified field buyers to establish a strong presence in the wild mushroom business. Although we offer all varieties of wild mushrooms that are in season, our main focus is on MORELS and CHANTRELLES.
