Details: Mica has excellent elasticity and delamination properties with many benefits with respect to insulation, heat, water, fire and chemical resistance. Thus, mica is widely used in many fields and has been used industrially for over one hundred year. At present, the global market needs more than 200, 000 tons of mica per year.

After 100+ years of large-scale production, the availability of quality mica is decreasing. Countries are attaching greater importance to protecting the environment and the virescence of mountain massif, and mining is often forbidden. This has created a shortage of natural mica, which has driven up prices while decreasing quality.

As a petroleum, natural mica is also a nonrenewable resource. Due to shrinking inventories of natural mica, countries have been developing other materials to replace mica.

Synthetic mica is a sheet silicate compound produced by pyroreaction, fusing, cooling, and crystallization with various raw chemical and mineral materials. Therefore, compared with natural mica, synthetic mica has superior qualities and more specialized applications, and is widely used in:

4. Plastic and rubber products
