The Punjab Wildlife Research Institute, Gatwala, Faisalabad, located at 17-km from Faisalabad city on Faisalabad - Lahore Express way.

Faisalabad Region is the part of Central Punjab, Topographically, it was a Semi Arid Region converted into Irrigated Lands. Now major part of the area comprises on agro-ecosystem, some uncultivated patches and a few irrigated plantations.

To undertake population surveys throughout Punjab for study of population dynamics, formulate policies to improve status of wildlife, research and impart in-service trainings to officers and officials of Punjab Wildlife & Parks Department.
