I am in the process of developing proposal for my company. The product that I am asked to work on is an MP3 player with the following features
1. Screen that displays a few icons and numbers.
2. Telephone keypad (1-0) plus hyphen (-) and Colon (: )
3. Scroll button.
4. Solar powered. Battery that can be charged by solar power. This is a very important feature.
5. It should have 2GB capacity.
6. The information is preloaded. So no features are required for uploading is required.

Once the project is approved and prototype made I can offer to purchase a min of 100, 000 pieces and a maximum of 1, 000, 000.

Will you be interested in the project? Could you throw some light on this? I was just wondering if the price could be brought below $2 or close to that. You may also suggest some alternatives that will bring the price down. I am open for discussion and suggestions. Also I would like to deal only with the OEM who has the R&D facility or appropriate tie UPS with R&D companies.

Though price is a very important, as this product goes to non-commercial activity, the overall capability and quality consciousness will be considered in awarding the contract.

Though the details of our company are kept confidential now it will be revealed after the preliminary assessment and approval of capacity of the manufacturer.
