Altec - Alternate Energy Technology Consultants, was founded by Meena Malde, BSc. Aerospace Engineering, PGCEd, in 2008. Our vision is to provide energy with a greener solution, in Africa.

Altec provides alternative energy technology consultancy in renewable energy sources - primarily in wind and solar power, in Kenya.

We provide advice on energy efficiency audits, water heating solutions, supply equipment for use with Solar and Wind power, install power backups and inverters.

Altec is also proud to be the first company in Sub Sahara Africa to introduce a pilot scheme called 'Energy Kiosks'. In an Energy Kiosk, one can buy electricity in off-grid parts of Kenya (95% of Kenya is not connected to the grid). The kiosks provide simple everyday uses (for most of us) like battery recharging for LED lamps, mobile phones, and radio, agro or food processing appliances. It will also be used for refrigeration for health and medical clinics to preserve medicines and vaccines, power for rural schools so students can utilize computers and other electronic devices.
