Field proven under the toughest bridge conditions everywhere in the world, the Modular joint system is made to order in accordance with the highest fabrication standards and can be engineered to meet a variety of conditions and movement requirements. Modular bridge expansion joints are designed to accommodate large longitudinal expansion and contraction movements of bridge superstructures. In addition to supporting wheel loads, a properly designed modular joint will prevent water and debris from draining onto the underlying superstructure and substructure.

Usage

Modular Expansion Joints is to permit vehicle traffic to travel smoothly across large expansion joint openings. It does this by dividing the large expansion joint openings into a series of smaller openings called cells. These cells work in series to accommodate the necessary thermal bridge movement while providing a smooth riding surface for bridge vehicle traffic. It is normally used for expansion joints with a movement range 0-80 mm.
