With the development of the tendering and internatioal trade business, following the instructions of the National Economic Committee of the State Council and Guangdong People′s Government, GMETC became a provincial company and was renamed as Guangdong Provincial Machinery & Electric Equipment Tendering Corporation in May of 1998.
