Terrazzo is an old Italian method of floor covering which is essentially cement that's embedded with marble chips, glass and other fragments to provide a decorative surface. Traditionally poured and embedded on-site by artisans, it's available today in the form of tiles, which allows for easy installation in any room. As with all hard tiles, a solid underlayment is crucial to prevent cracking after the tiles are installed.
