Plastic geogrid is a kind of polymer net material with square or rectangle shape through stretching. It can be divided into two types: Uniaxial plastic geogrid and biaxial plastic geogrid according to stretching directions when manufacturing it. It is made by punching holes on polymer sheets which have been made by squeezing out, whose raw materials are mostly PP or HDPE, and then stretch directionally under the conditions of heating. Uniaxial plastic geogrid is made by stretching only along the length direction of sheets, while biaxial plastic geogrid is made by continuously stretching the vertical direction of uniaxial plastic geogrid.

Uniaxial geogrid is made of high molecular polymer after extruded and laminated and punched into regular mesh before longitudinal stretching. This process makes high molecule in direct line state in oblong oval net structure with uniform distribution and high node intensity. This structure has rather high tensile strength and stretch modulus, especially our products of this kind have superior world class tensile strength and stretch modulus. The soil offers ideal force carrying and diffusing chain system. It has large tensile strength, and is suitable for different kinds of soil. It is a prevailing reinforcement material.

Preparation for construction and technological process of geogrids
1. Main contents of engineering and construction
Dig foundation trench; Deal with foundation and construct base; Prepare and fix panel; Lay reinforced materials; Collect filling materials, spread, lay and press well; Mould cap stone of drainage installation; Base and affiliated installation, etc.
2. After reaching the site, check the geogrid randomly as regulation.

The length of geogrid should not be shorter than the designed length
The designed length of geobelt should be added 300-500mm as margin.
C. Lay and fill geogrid
When laying geogrid, the underside should be flat and close-grained, generally should lay flat and draw unbent and mustn't lap over, roll or twist.
When connect geogrids, in general, 15-20cm in longitudinal directions and 10cm in transverse directions and fix ground with "U" nails every 1.5-20m on geogrids. Decide layers of geogrids according to technical requirements. Fill materials in time after laying the geogrids.
D. In the filling materials, it is better for the maximum block materials' diameter to be not more than two thirds of layers' thickness.
