In nitrogen cutting, the material is melted completely by laser energy, and nitrogen is blown out of the cutting seam to avoid inappropriate chemical reaction. The temperature in the melting point region is relatively low. With the cooling and protection of nitrogen, the reaction is stable and uniform, and the cutting quality is high. The section is fine and smooth, the surface roughness is low, and there is no oxide layer.

Application of nitrogen in laser cutting



1. High pressure gas for auxiliary cutting: nitrogen can remove oxygen from the cutting area as high pressure gas to assist laser cutting. This can improve the cutting quality, eliminate oxidation, prevent discoloration, thus improving the adhesion of paint pigments and welding strength.



2. Light path cleaning: nitrogen is used as light path cleaning to remove any particles from the nozzle to the cutting area from the laser beam path. This prevents any laser distortion and helps to maintain a more accurate cut.



3. Optical head cleaning: purge the optical head of fiber laser with nitrogen. The cleaning of the head ensures that the optical system does not contain particles and moisture, protects the laser and extends the service life of the equipment.
