Qualcomm Qcn-5022

The QCN5022 is a highly integrated, 2.4 GHz access point RFIC that supports 802.11ax WLAN operation delivering high Tx linearity and high receiver sensitivity. Figure 1-1 provides a functional view of the chip architecture.
The QCN5022 integrates a low noise amplifier (LNA) and driver amplifier (DA) and supports 20/40 MHz 802.11ax/ac/b/g/n. It is a 28 nm band-specific WLAN AP radio frequency-integrated circuit (RFIC) supporting 2 x 2/2-SS, UL/DL single-user and multiple-user multiple input multiple output (MU-MIMO), and UL/DL Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiple Access (OFDMA).
The maximum RF channel bandwidth per chain is 40 MHz.
The QCN5022 is a 2 x 2 RF companion chip to the IPQ60x8 SoC, which connects through two I/Q interface pairs to the Wi-Fi BB in IPQ60x8, where the data converters lie. The power detector (PDET) signal for each chain is used for closed-loop-power control (CLPC) and digital predistortion (DPD) calibration to improve Tx power accuracy and PA linearity. PDET signal can be RF signal from external coupler. The QCN5022 has an integrated LNA and DA for each chain. The design assumes that an external PA and external LNA are always present for each chain and QCN5022 provides the LNA_EN and PA_EN digital signals necessary to control these external components. The WLAN baseband digital (BBD), ADC/DAC, and BB-PLL are all on the IPQ60x8.
