Product Introduction
Polytetramethylene Ether Glycol(referred to as PTMEG) is a homopolymer obtained through the ring opening and polymerization of cation from monomer THF in the presence of catalyst. It is a kind of linear polyether diol of hydroxyl end groups. At room temperature, it is a white waxy solid, when the temperature exceeds the room temperature, it is melted into a transparent, and colorless liquid, dissolved easily in the alcohol, ester,ketone,aromatic hydrocarbon and chlorinated hydrocarbon, not soluble in fatty hydrocarbon and water. According to the relative molecular weights,PTMEG product can be classified as grades 250,650,1000,1400,1800,2000,3000 and etc., in the industrialization production,different specifications of products can be produced by adjusting its relative molecular weights according to the market demand. Ptmeg is mainly used for producing the polyurethane(PU) elastomer, PU elastic fiber (Spandex) and ester ther copolymaer elastomers.
