In the application process of high-power LED products and devices, heat dissipation, electrostatic protection and welding have a great impact on their characteristics, which need to attract the attention of application customers.
. Heat dissipation:
In the application of high-power LED products, heat dissipation should be done to ensure the normal operation of high-power LED products.
1. Radiator requirements.
Shape and Material: If the sealing requirement of finished products is not high, convection can occur directly with the outside air environment. It is suggested that aluminum or copper radiators with fins be used.
2. Effective heat dissipation surface area:
For 1W high-power LED white light (other colors are basically the same), we recommend that the total effective heat dissipation surface area of the radiator be greater than 50-60 square centimeters. For 3W products, it is recommended that the total effective heat dissipation surface area of the radiator be greater than 150 square centimeters, and the higher power should be increased depending on the situation and test results, so as to ensure that the temperature of the radiator should not exceed 60 C as far as possible.
3. Connection method:
In order to strengthen the bonding degree between the two contact surfaces, it is suggested to coat a layer of thermal conductive silicone grease (thermal conductivity of thermal conductive silicone grease (> 3.0W/m.k) on the bottom of the LED substrate or on the surface of the radiator. The thermal conductive silicone grease should be uniformly coated, properly applied and then pressed and fixed by screw.
. Electrostatic protection.
LED is a semiconductor device, which is sensitive to static electricity. Especially for white, green, blue and purple LED, we should do a good job in preventing static electricity and eliminating static electricity.
1. The generation of static electricity:
(1) Friction: In daily life, any two objects of different materials contact and then separate, can produce static electricity. The most common method of generating static electricity is friction. The better the insulation of the material, the easier it is to generate electricity by friction. In addition, static electricity can also be generated when any two different substances are separated after contact.
(2) Induction: For conductive materials, because electrons can flow freely on their surfaces, such as in an electric field, because of the same repulsion and the opposite attraction, positive and negative ions will transfer and charge will be generated on their surfaces.
(3) Conduction: For conductive materials, charge transfer occurs because electrons can flow freely on their surfaces, such as in contact with charged objects.
2. The harm of static electricity to LED:
(1) The heat generated by instantaneous electric field or current causes local damage to the LED, which shows that the leakage current increases rapidly and can still work, but the brightness decreases and the life of the LED is damaged.
(2) The insulation layer of the LED is destroyed by electric field or current, which makes the device unable to work (completely destroyed), which is manifested as dead light.
3. Electrostatic protection and elimination measures:
For the entire process (production, testing, packaging, etc.), all employees directly in contact with the LED should do a good job in preventing and eliminating static electricity measures, mainly.
(1). Lay anti-static floor and grounding well in workshop.
(2). The worktable is an anti-static worktable, and the production machine is well grounded.
(3). Operators wear anti-static clothes, wear anti-static bracelets, gloves or foot rings.
(4). Welding soldering iron to do a good job of grounding measures.
(5). Antistatic materials are used for packaging.

When welding, please pay attention to the best choice of constant temperature soldering iron, the welding temperature is 360 C, soldering iron and LED pad contact time is not 3S.
