Overview of EH Magnetostrictive Displacement/Level Sensor:
The change of the magnetization direction in the ferromagnetic substance will cause the change of the lattice spacing of the medium, so that the length and volume of the ferromagnetic substance will change, that is, the phenomenon of magnetostriction, also known as the Wiedemann effect, and its inverse effect is called Villary effect.
The principle of the magnetostrictive displacement sensor is to generate a strain pulse signal when two different magnetic fields intersect, and then calculate the time period required for this signal to be detected, thereby converting the accurate position. One of the two magnetic fields comes from the permanent magnet in the magnetic ring, and the other comes from the excitation pulse generated by the electronic components in the sensor electronics compartment. The excitation pulse travels at the speed of sound along a waveguide filament made of magnetostrictive material inside the sensor. When intersected with the permanent magnetic field in the magnetic ring, the mechanical vibration of the waveguide wire forms a strain pulse due to the phenomenon of magnetostriction. The strain pulses are quickly detected by sensing circuits in the electronics compartment. From the moment when the excitation pulse is generated to the moment when the strain pulse is detected, the total time multiplied by the fixed speed of sound, we can accurately calculate the position change of the magnet. This process is continuous, so whenever the position of the magnetic ring changes, the new position is quickly measured. Since the output signal is a true position value, rather than a proportional or re-amplified signal, there is no signal drift or change in value, and there is no need to periodically rescale like other sensors.
Magnetostrictive sensors are non-contact and never wear out. It has the advantages of high resolution, high precision, high stability, high reliability, fast response time and long working life. The sensor does not need to be re-calibrated and does not require regular maintenance.

Before wiring, please check whether the power supply meets the requirements of +24VDC, and the output power of the power supply must be greater than the total power consumption of the product, calculated according to different ranges of each sensor ≤95mA. If the power supply cannot meet the requirements, please replace the power supply to ensure that the sensor can work normally.
