1 Scope of application

This PTC electric heater is suitable for electric / hybrid / fuel cell vehicles and is mainly used as the main heat source for temperature regulation in the vehicle. The PTC electric heater is applicable to both vehicle driving mode and parking mode. In the heating process, electric energy is effectively converted into heat energy by PTC components. Therefore, this product has faster heating effect than internal combustion engine. At the same time, it can also be used for battery temperature regulation (heating to working temperature) and fuel cell starting load.

The PTC electric heater adopts PTC technology to meet the safety requirements of passenger cars for high voltage. In addition, it can also meet the relevant environmental requirements of components in the engine compartment.

The purpose of PTC electric heater in application is to replace the engine block as the main source of heat source. By supplying power to the PTC heating group, the PTC heating component is heated, and the medium in the circulating pipeline of the heating system is heated through heat exchange.

With compact structure and high power density, it can flexibly adapt to the installation space of the whole vehicle.

The use of plastic shell can realize the thermal isolation between the shell and the frame, so as to reduce the heat dissipation and improve the efficiency.

2 Design principle

The PTC electric heater module consists of PTC heating components, controllers and internal pipelines. The heating component is installed in the aluminum die casting, the aluminum die casting and the plastic casing form a closed circulation pipeline, and the cooling liquid flows through the heating body in a meander structure.
The electrical control part is an aluminum die-cast body covered with a metal casing. The controller circuit board is secured with screws and the connector is directly attached to the circuit board.
