We have developed black chromium nickel-plated Aluminum successfully through one year research. Now we are able to have a large supply of black chromium nickel-plated Al coil or cutting to manufacturers of flat solar thermal collectors.

In solar thermal collectors, a selective surface is a means of increasing its operation temperature and /or efficiency. The selectivity is defined as the ratio of radiation-absorption (alpha) to radiation-emission (epsilon).

All selective surfaces need to be able to absorb high amounts of radiation. To be able to retain the radiation the surface must have a low emission rate. Having a higher alpha and a lower epsilon makes the selective surface and encompassing conversion system more efficient.

Black chromium nickel-plated Al is a very desired selective surface used as solar absorber fins for a flat-plate solar thermal collector, which is very durable, highly resistant to humidity or oxidizing atmospheres and extreme temperatures while being able to retain its selective properties. It has very good resistance to corrosion, low maintenance requirements and high thermal stability.
