Casting Mica

Synthetic mica casting is a new type of inorganic insulating material with high temperature resistance, machinability and corrosion resistance. It can not only be used for turning, drilling, milling, planing, grinding and other processing by general mechanical processing methods, but also can be processed into parts with complex geometry as in precision casting, with accurate size and smooth surface. Its thermal shock resistance is much better than that of alumina and other ceramic materials. At the same time, it also has excellent chemical corrosion resistance, almost all the inorganic and organic acid-base corrosion. In addition, it also has good electrical insulation and high mechanical strength, as well as radiation resistance, oxidation resistance, and certain weldability with some metals.

In the metal heat treatment industry, using it instead of alumina products, not only processing is convenient, but also prolongs the service life of the equipment. Because of its long-term work without deformation and aging, it can also replace some plastic products and be used in instruments, meters and electrical insulation. It can also be widely used in metallurgy, chemical industry, aerospace, laser and automobile manufacturing and other fields


Synthetic mica is a new type of inorganic insulating material with white appearance and luster. Because the basic composition of melt cast mica is synthetic fluorophlogopite, it has a series of characteristics of synthetic mica. The ambient temperature can reach 1100 ºC for long-term use, and the density is lighter than that of ceramics, generally 2.74g/cm3.


The thermal stability of synthetic mica casting products is better than that of other ceramic materials such as alumina. Even if it is heated to 800 ºC and put into cold water for several times, it will not crack.

Because it is composed of mica microcrystals, it will not creep and deform at high temperature, so it can meet the change of multi-dimensional stress, sudden cooling and sudden heat during the use. The test shows that the temperature rises from 900 to 950 ºC in 40 seconds, and then spray cold water to cool immediately, and no crack or crack is found.
