The material composition of hot stamping paper Hot stamping paper, also known as aluminum foil, is a special material used in the hot stamping process. It is usually composed of multiple layers of composite materials, mainly including the following levels: Basic layer (basic material) The base layer is usually made of polyester film (PET), with a thickness typically ranging from 12 microns to 25 microns. The main function of this layer is to support other coatings attached to it and facilitate continuous hot stamping during processing. The foundation layer needs to have properties such as tensile resistance and resistance to instantaneous high temperatures. Peel layer The peeling layer is generally coated with organic silicon resin or other materials. Its main function is to enable the pigment, aluminum, and adhesive layer to quickly detach from the polyester film after hot stamping and be transferred and bonded to the surface of the object being hot stamped. The peeling layer should have good peeling performance, otherwise it will affect the quality of the hot stamping product. Color layer The main components of the color layer are synthetic resins and dyes with suitable film-forming properties, heat resistance, and transparency. During production, resin and dye are dissolved in organic solvents to form a color paste, which is then coated and dried. The color layer not only provides the color of the hot stamping paper, but also affects the hot stamping effect. Electroplated layer (metal coating) Electroplated coatings are usually metal coatings, such as aluminum plating. This layer gives the hot stamping paper a metallic luster, making it appear bright after hot stamping. Adhesive layer The adhesive layer is the last layer, which enables the hot stamping paper to firmly adhere to the surface of the object being hot stamped during the hot stamping process. Application scope Hot stamping paper is widely used in the surface hot stamping process of various materials, and different application fields may require hot stamping paper with different characteristics.
