Spherical Pressure Vessel/Tank
Application:
Spherical pressure Tank can be used to store all kinds of gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), liquefied natural gas, liquid hydrocarbon, liquid ammonia, liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen, etc
Significant advantages:
(1) Within the same pressure, the press of spherical pressure vessel shell is only half of the tangential press on the cylindrical pressure vessel shell with the same diameter and wall thickness. Therefore, the wall thickness of spherical pressure vessels can be thinned to half of the wall thickness with same diameter cylindrical pressure vessel.
(2) With the same capacity, Surface Area of the spherical pressure vessel is the minimum. Therefore, if it is with the same working pressure, in the same volume of pressure vessel, spherical pressure vessels is with the lightest in weight. Spherical pressure vessels are commonly used as a storage tank, thus sometimes referred to as the spherical tank. The picture shows the appearance of the spherical pressure vessels.
Usage:
Spherical pressure vessel can be used to store all kinds of gas, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG), liquefied natural gas, liquid hydrocarbon, liquid ammonia, liquid nitrogen, liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen, etc. Working pressure is less than 3 million Mpa, but under special circumstances can be up to 100 million Mpa. When used as a storage tank, the volume is 100 ~ 5000 m3 commonly, but a few also can reach tens of thousands of cubic meters of volume.
Compared with the cylindrical pressure vessels, spherical pressure vessel has advantage:
(1) large spherical pressure vessel to save material, easy to make, often using high strength level high strength low alloy steel, with thin wall thickness reduction as far as possible, but this kind of steel weld ability is poorer, we must adopt reliable welding process measures;
(2) the spherical pressure vessels by more than the ball valve assembly and become, should be strictly guarantee the assembly dimension precision, in order to prevent the local parts are in a spherical shell is too high.
